A police watchdog has announced it will open an investigation into Thames Valley Police’s response to a missing person case.
The force referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission on Monday, July 4, after a man from Maidenhead in his 50s was found dead in Hampshire on Sunday, July 3.
He had been reported missing on Friday, July 1.
The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
His next of kin has been informed.
