Parents and friends of a three-year-old who has been fighting cancer have expressed their delight that he is in remission.
George Ferriman, from Furze Platt, has spent the last five months battling acute myeloid leukaemia.
His parents Louise and Richard announced on the Facebook page Fight For George that he is now in remission.
George has spent several months undergoing chemotherapy to recover.
On the post, which was published on yesterday evening, it said: "We are delighted to tell you all that George is cancer free. George has beaten cancer and is now in remission.
"He still has a long road ahead but for today we are celebrating this wonderful news!
"To all of you, each and everyone of you that has loved us, supported us, fed us and sent the most amazing messages.....Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
"George has fought the battle of his life and he has won. We are so proud of him, Charlie, Isabelle and Henry and also proud that we live in a community that looks after its own...for that we will be forever grateful. Xxxx
"His beads of courage! We love you George."
George's fight has inspired the community to fundraise for him, and many events have taken place including triathlons, parties and picnics.
