Thames Valley Police has referred itself to a police watchdog after a missing man from Maidenhead was found dead in Hampshire on Sunday.
The force yesterday (Monday) referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as a mandatory requirement in connection with the missing person investigation.
TVP said a man, from Maidenhead, was reported missing on Friday and was found dead in Hampshire on Sunday.
His death is being treated as unexplained, but it is not believed to be suspicious. His next of kin had been informed.
No further details on the incident have been released.
Thames Valley Police is waiting for a decision from the IPCC on its mode of investigation.
