Wealdstone made it a final home league game to forget for Maidenhead United manager Johnson 'Drax' Hippolyte as the visitors ran out 4-1 winners at York Road on Saturday.

Shaun Lucien opened the scoring for the Stones in the 7th minute when he curled a dipping 25-yard free-kick over the Maidenhead wall, leaving goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins clasping at thin air.

But the Magpies were soon level after David Hunt floated in a free-kick towards Jacob Erskine who was given the freedom of York Road to head powerfully past Jonathan North at the back post.

Erskine should have doubled his tally just before half-time but he could only drag his shot wide after Leon Solomon sent the forward through on the Wealdstone goal.

The visitors regained the lead soon after the break following a defensive mix-up.

Scott Davies’ 55th minute corner was cleared, only for Matt Ball to scoop the ball back into the box.

Maidenhead keeper Elvijs Putnins spilled the ball leaving Jonny Wright to bundle home into an empty net.

Goalscorer Wright then turned provider in the 66th minute after he pounced on a through ball, rounded keeper Putnins and dinked the ball to the back-post for Matt Ball to head home.

Former Maidenhead striker Jefferson Louis rounded off a miserable afternoon for the hosts when he rifled home a fourth Wealdstone goal in the 80th minute following more clever build-up play from Wright and Ball.
