Sunday's scorer against Bath City, and the driving force in many a Magpies’ match this term, Adrian Clifton, has been given the nickname Yaya Toure.
The barrel chested front-man and attacking midfielder was likened to the Ivorian Premier League star after another captivating display just behind the front two of Jonathan Hippolyte and Lanre Azeez.
Clifton (pictured) scored a goal worthy of winning any game, blasting home from outside the box in the fourth minute. Sadly it wasn’t to be the winner, though, as City came into the contest after the break and grabbed a late equaliser through Ross Stearn’s free-kick.
“What a goal that was,” said manager Johnson Hippolyte.
“We’ve nicknamed him Yaya Toure.
“When he plays behind that front man he’s got that power and pace to run onto things.
“He’s been outstanding this year and just keeps on improving,” added Drax.
