A 17th century Cookham Dean hotel and restaurant has launched a new Japanese-inspired menu, with dishes including wagyu beef sliders and pumpkin katsu curry.
Karma Sanctum on the Green, in The Old Cricket Common, will offer Japanese street food sharing plates, casual light bites, and bar snacks.
Following the concept’s successful launch in London, the restaurant has been rebranded as Mole & Badger Pub & Shokudo for the launch of its new menu.
The new dining experience is described as 'unique' to the village of Cookham Dean, with other signature plates including seared miso marinated sirloin and chocolate and tofu mousse.
Owner Mark and Sherene Fuller say that they introduced the Japanese-inspired menu as an 'alternative dining option' for villagers.
It is based on a sharing concept with small plates, large plates and set menus to choose from, with seaweed, salmon teriyaki, shredded white cabbage and sweet picked ginger among other options.
Mole & Badger Pub & Shokudo - which features nine guest bedrooms with an outdoor heated pool and landscaped gardens - has also partnered with the Cookham Cocktail Club to offer people specially curated cocktail tasting experiences for up to 12 guests.
