The bridge was closed for roadworks in July last year
Update September 26, 17:01:
As a result of the Network Rail works on the railway bridge, the council has said that it is postponing the next stage of the Harrow Market works in Langley.
A new junction will be created with traffic lights to replace the roundabout connecting High Street, Langley Road and Station Road.
A Slough Borough Council spokeswoman said: ““Network Rail works will commence on Monday, September 30 for four weeks and there will be a road closure in place.
"We have requested this begins after 9.30am due to the reopening of the M4 motorway."
She added: "There is now a hiatus in the works due to Network Rail requesting time to carry out urgent work on the railway bridge in Station Road.
"We have postponed the next stage of the Harrow Market works until this has been completed.
"This will also give the council a chance to carry out ‘behind the scenes’ work with utility companies and structural engineers for the next phase of the project. We would like to thank people for their patience.”
The railway bridge in Station Road, Langley, is set to close for one month for 'essential repairs'.
Network Rail needs to carry out repairs to the steel and masonry on the bridge and workers will also remove the old paint and rust before repainting it.
Workers will be on site from 7.30am to 6pm from Monday (September 30) until Thursday, October 31. There will be some periods when they will be working 24 hours a day.
In a letter sent out to nearby residents, Tamison Painter, community relations executive at Network Rail said: "We are aware that we are working close to your home and we apologise in advance for any disruption we may cause."
As a result of this Slough Borough Council has postponed Harrow Market improvement works.
Slough Borough Council tweeted: "Urgent work on the railway bridge in Station Road, is set to begin on Monday by @NetworkRail"
