Henley MP Freddie van Mierlo invited representatives from Henley Town Council and the Environment Agency to a meeting last Friday to provide an update on progress.
The footbridge, which links the Thames Path between Henley and Shiplake, was closed by the EA in May 2022, following complaints about its condition.
The meeting focused on timelines for the outline designs, which are expected by the end of March.
The EA is said to have appointed two project managers to look into how the project will be funded.
Mr van Mierlo said: “I was pleased to hear that they’re still on track to deliver the outline designs and welcomed an announcement that a public exhibition will be held in the Spring or Summer.
“I will continue to work very closely with the EA and the town council to identify the further funding that is required to deliver the project. I know just how important this is for residents of Henley.”
