ROTHERFIELD UNITED WOMEN went down to a 4-1 Division 3 West defeat at THATCHAM AND NEWBURY TOWN LADIES BLUES on Sunday.
The first half was a close battle, with both teams creating chances and Rotherfield goalkeeper Zantia Jacobs pulling off numerous good saves.
After sustained pressure, the home side eventually broke the deadlock after
35 minutes. Rotherfield hit back and equalised through Charlotte Smith.
The match remained competitive but Thatcham went on to score twice in quick succession to secure the points.
Elsewhere in the division, GORING UNITED WOMEN ran out 7-0 winners at THATCHAM AND NEWBURY TOWN LADIES WHITES. Megan Kinloch netted five goals while Emily Biddle and Kate Eaton were also on the score sheet.
In Division 3 South, WARGRAVE WOMEN went down 2-1 at BERKS COUNTY WOMEN. Georgina Evans was on target for the visitors.
