A tea shop selling creative blends of the nation’s favourite beverage has opened in Windsor – offering a blend exclusive to the town which will help support children with life-threatening conditions.
Bird & Blend Tea Co was founded by Krisi Smith and Mike Turner, who have created a range of more than 100 teas by blending herbs, flowers, fruits, caramel, chocolate, and even sprinkles.
The company has opened its 30th retail store in Windsor Royal Station today (Tuesday, December 9) and will sell teas, tea tools and feature a takeaway tea bar.
More, Bird & Blend has crafted a bespoke mix called Windsor RoyalTEA to honour its new store in the historic town.
Customers can discover Great Taste Awards-winning tea and ‘the largest collection of matcha flavours in Europe.’
Bird & Blend’s imaginative blends include teas built to incorporate the popular flavours of chocolate digestives, strawberry lemonade and gingerbread.
Other interesting flavours include a blueberry muffin ‘super matcha’, ice cream matcha and banana matcha, among others.
There are also classics and firm favourites on offer such as Earl Grey Crème, plus ceremonial grade matcha (the highest-grade).
Its Windsor RoyalTEA is exclusive to Windsor, and is a black tea blended with coconut and raspberry ‘to recreate the scrumptious flavours of a lavish afternoon tea.’
The Windsor team will include four tea mixologists, trained to blend and serve creative teas.
They will host free live matcha demos (showing how to prepare matcha properly) and run the company’s established ‘mixology masterclass’ where guests can learn all about tea and blend their own to take home.
Windsor’s Bird & Blend will brew up matcha-based drinks to take away, and offer a tea matching service to help people find the right tea to tantalise their taste buds.
Bird & Blend’s Windsor store has nominated Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, which supports children with life-threatening conditions, as its local charity.
Fifty per cent of the in-store profits generated from sales of Windsor RoyalTEA will be donated to this cause.
Mike Turner, co-founder and managing director of Bird & Blend Tea Co said:
“Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside the fast growth of the digital side of our business, we’re proudly continuing to invest in local high streets, and serving the local community.
“We see our stores as not just retail spaces, but as community hubs where customers can come to make connections with one another and our team, and enjoy interacting with our teas.
“For us, there will always be a place for magical in-person experiences and we’re delighted to be arriving in Windsor.”
The Bird & Blend Windsor store is at Unit 9, Windsor Royal Station, Jubilee Arch, Windsor, SL4 1PJ.
