Reports of school and business closures have been recorded in and around Maidenhead due to flooding today.
The Met Office has placed amber and yellow rain warnings in the area which are expected to remain in place till 9pm today (September 23).
Manor Green School, near Cannon Lane, issued an 'urgent message' this morning advising parents not to send children to school due to flooding.
A statement posted on the school's website read: "The school is closed today (Monday 23 September) for children due to flooding. Please don't send your children into school."
Meanwhile, Pines Veterinary Clinic, in Bath Road, has been flooded and patients have been advised to contact Twyford Veterinary Clinic in an emergency.
A statement published on the practice's Facebook page read: "Unfortunately we have flooded today, so we are unable to see any patients this morning - if you have an emergency, please call Twyford Veterinary Clinic.
"If you have an appointment today, please call us first before you arrive. If you need to book a non urgent appointment, please call us tomorrow - Thank you for your patience."
Residents in Maidenhead reported difficulties commuting to work and school this morning due to flooding near the Cannon Lane mini roundabout and Wootton Way roundabout as well as Norden Road.
It is estimated that the rainfall over the past 24 hours could have been one of the wettest days in Maidenhead for more than 100 years.
Former Reading University meteorologist Roger Brugge said 93.22mm of rain fell in 24 hours till 10am today.
The Met Office weather warnings are:
An amber warning advises risks of heavy rain which could cause flooding and disruption including delays for drivers or people using public transport.
Power cuts could also affect areas under the warning.
It is in place for Maidenhead, Marlow and Twyford.
A yellow warning also advises heavy rain may cause disruption and in certain cases, flooding.
Areas affected by a yellow warning include Slough and Windsor.
