A couple and two pet dogs were evacuated from their home amid a blaze in a residential Slough road which left a caravan ‘destroyed’.
Three Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue fire engines were dispatched to the address in Paxton Way, where a caravan outside a home was alight, at around 1.20pm today (17 February).
A spokesperson for Slough Fire Station said firefighters had arrived to a scene of ‘thick black smoke and lots of flames’ with gas cylinders ‘going off’ inside the caravan.
The spokesperson said a couple and two Boxer dogs were evacuated from the house amid the blaze, which spread to the front of the house.
Around fifteen firefighters were at the scene, including four who wore specialist breathing equipment and used hose reels to extinguish the flames.
Two fire engines from Slough and one from Bracknell were in attendance, with firefighters working to bring the blaze under control for around one hour and 26 minutes.
The caravan was destroyed in the fire, but the couple and their pet animals were able to return to the house, the spokesperson said.
