Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) has said its students are safe after it issued a ‘precautionary lockdown’ this morning.
Concerns were raised on social media earlier this morning after users reported a police incident at the college.
In a statement, BCA said there was ‘no risk’ to pupils, staff or visitors and the lockdown is no longer in place.
The BCA statement said: “You may be aware that a precautionary lockdown took place at BCA this morning.
“Everyone is safe and there was no risk to students, staff or visitors at any time.
“The precautionary lockdown has now been lifted.
"We would like to thank everyone for their immediate and calm response."
Update 3.30pm
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police was called to Berkshire College of Agriculture on Burchetts Green, Maidenhead just before 9am today (28/11) to reports of teenagers in possession of an imitation firearm.
“Officers swiftly attended the scene and three teenagers were spoken to.
“No criminality was identified and no one was harmed."
“The incident has now been resolved and will be dealt with by the college.”
