A move to Eton Wick for Animal Sanctuary UK is off after its lease was terminated by the Royal Borough today (Thursday).
The charity was due to move from its Dorney home to Eton Wick in October after its current location was deemed unsuitable.
A statement from the Royal Borough said: “The council have terminated the lease with Animal Sanctuary UK Limited at Bell Farm Stables, Eton Wick. This was terminated on Thursday September 29.
“The charity were unfortunately unable to comply with the terms of the lease to carry out works within an agreed timescale, to make the property weathertight and safe for animals and people.
“We wish them well in their future activities.”
When contacted by the Express, sanctuary founder Sara Ross said she did not know the full details of the announcement and did not wish to comment further.
