A new daily bus service connecting Dedworth residents to Heathrow Airport is set to launch this weekend.
Commuters will be able to book on the new Go2Gate app to travel between their home and Heathrow Terminal 5.
The Go2Gate service, created by Heathrow and Thames Valley Buses, covers major roads in Dedworth so residents will be less than a two-minute walk away from a pick-up point.
Matthew Wooll, route development head for surface access at Heathrow said: “This new Go2Gate service is a fantastic addition to Heathrow’s public transport network.
“We want all of Heathrow’s passengers and colleagues to have access to good public transport at the times they need it.
"Travelling more sustainably will help reduce congestion and emissions, and Go2Gate will also help keep the cost of travelling down."
New 12-seater minibuses will be available for booking from this Saturday (August 19), and the service will run seven days a week from 3am to 11.30pm.
The Go2Gate app will tell the user where to wait, provide updates and show bus tracking up to 30 minutes before arrival.
Thames Valley Buses said all trips must be booked in advance on the app, between 28 days and 20 minutes before travel.
For the first week, all trips are free with the discount code NEWW2G.
English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes are also valid for free off-peak travel.
After the first week, the single fare will be £5, with group discounts available, and £2 for Heathrow Airport employees with ID.
Thames Valley Buses general manager Simon Fisher said: “Whether people are flying off somewhere or work at the airport, we are making it so much easier to get between Dedworth and Heathrow and home again any day of the week at times that suit.
"We are hoping for at least 20,000 journeys in the first year and there has been a lot of interest in the service.
“Go2Gate is a minibus exclusive to the Dedworth area that is more like your own personal taxi and although many people jetting away will travel only occasionally, we hope the people working at the airport will see this as a real benefit.”
