Sewage appears to be leaking onto the road at Cannon Lane, near Cox Green School.
The waste was seen on the road near the railway bridge adjacent to Foundation Park at 9:30am on Thursday morning.
It was dripping from a grassy verge next to the pavement, which a resident claims contains a manhole that has overflowed six times in the past two years.
Sandra Barney said it was the third day the waste had been there.
She said added that she had seen young children splashed by passing traffic as they walked past it.
A spokesman for Thames Water said: “We are sending someone to investigate.”
