Senate House at 62-70, Bath Road, Slough
These are the latest planning applications for Slough Borough Council.
Pending: A former office building could be turned into a school if Slough Borough Council approves the plans.
Owen White Solicitors occupied Senate House in Bath Road until 2023, but since then, the site has been left vacant.
Darul Madinah School, the applicant, is now looking to turn the three-storey office building into an independent school.
A reception and staff offices are planned for the ground floor, with the two upper floors to be used for classrooms.
The existing small cellular offices will be refurbished to make way for four classrooms on each floor.
Two part-time and nine full-time members of staff would be working at the site.
The school would be open from 8:15am to 3:30pm for the pupils, with staggered drop-off and pick-up times from Salthill Park using two minibuses.
These timings will help to ‘avoid traffic congestion’, with no parents able to drop off pupils at the school building, according to the application documents.
When it comes to parking, 17 car parking spaces and 22 cycle spaces will be retained, to be used by staff and visitors.

Approved: Langley Health Centre will be extended after Slough Borough Council approved a set of plans.
The health centre located between Common Road and Cheviot Road submitted plans for a first-floor extension, with changes to the clinical rooms.
A planning statement said the Langley Health Centre is ‘struggling to provide the primary care face to face meetings’ for patients, with admin facilities also ‘stretched’.
It said capital funding has been granted, with the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) agreeing ‘in principle’ to use some of this funding to improve the facilities of the health centre.
The proposals include plans to move the admin facilities from the ground to the first-floor extension.
This will free up space for additional GP consultation offices ‘necessary for the local population’ and ‘potential’ for three new members of staff.
Slough Borough Council approved the plans, but a string of conditions needs to be met, including a £12,000 contribution for the council to be able to set up a traffic regulation officer.
This will ensure the impact of additional traffic associated with the development is controlled.

Pending: Padel courts could be added to a piece of land near a Slough college if the council approves the proposals.
Slough and Eton Business and Enterprise College and Powerleague Fives submitted a set of plans looking to add six padel courts on site.
Powerleague Fives currently has eight football pitches at its site in Ragstone Road, which is part of the college complex.
The proposed padel courts – with canopies, lighting and synthetic padel tennis surfaces – will be located to the south of the existing pitches.
A walkaway between the courts is also planned.
The pitches will be used ‘exclusively’ by the college during the day, typically between 9am to 5pm, according to the application documents.
Powerleague would use the pitches outside of these times and on the weekend.
Additional cycle parking is proposed, but the additional demand for parking will be covered by the existing 120-car park at the site, according to the application documents.
