A pop-up tea party to raise awareness of the uncertain future of one of Cookham’s ‘hidden gems’ took place on Sunday.
About 60 people enjoyed tea and cakes at the party which took place at the Poundfield Lane home of Georgina Kilner, chairman of the Save Poundfield group.
Members of the group want to see the Poundfield site protected from development and designated as ‘local green space’.
The site currently faces an application from developer Oakford Homes to build four homes on its Ponyfield section.
Georgina told the Advertiser: “It’s sort of a hidden gem. Once people discover it, they realise it’s a fabulous walk but lots of people don’t know about it.”
The Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Sayonara Luxton also attended the event
