'Save Poundfield' campaign to launch this weekend

A campaign to save Poundfield from development is being launched this weekend.

Villagers have joined forces and created a ‘Save Poundfield’ campaign to protest against a development by Berkeley Homes. The developer held a public exhibition earlier this year over its plans to build 31 homes on the green space.

Fiona Hewer, chairman of Cookham Parish Council, said: “The Cookham Village Design Statement has recognised this land as an important green wedge.

“I personally feel it is the wrong location to consider development and I will be leading the discussion on this at the Parish Council on May 3.”

The launch will take place opposite Poundfield on Pony Field at 12.30pm on Saturday.

Visit www.savepoundfield.co.uk for more information or search ‘Save Poundfield’ on Facebook.
