Windsor Royal Shopping Centre is set to welcome a new addition this week with quirky variety store MINISO opening its doors.

Shoppers at the grand opening on Friday can expect a store filled with big-name franchises like Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, Disney and Pokemon – and products from toys and beauty essentials to homeware and clothing.

MINISO opened its first store in China in 2013 and has since grown to a global business spanning more than 100 countries and more than 5,500 shops.

MINISO UK chief operating officer Saad Usman said: “We’re thrilled to bring MINISO to Windsor Royal, marking our first store in Windsor and second in Berkshire.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community to explore our unique, affordable, and stylish collections from beloved brands.

“Opening just in time for Christmas, the store is the perfect destination for anyone seeking fun, trendy gifts that bring smiles to all ages this festive season.”

To celebrate the grand opening, MINISO said it will give the first 200 customers who spend a minimum of £5 in the Windsor store an exclusive goody bag of worth £25.

MINISO’s mascot, PenPen – a giant blue penguin - will be making a special appearance, joined by a team of drummers to mark the launch.

A spokesperson from Windsor Royal said: “We are looking forward to welcoming MINISO as they join Windsor Royal Shopping Centre.

“With their range of brands on offer, and being an innovative and design-led retailer, we are sure they will appeal to our customers and visitors.”

This opening follows a series of recent successful launches in Bristol, Paddington, Manchester Trafford Centre, Bluewater, and Newcastle Eldon Square earlier this year.

MINISO’s other Berkshire store is in Reading.
