When the clock strikes noon on Thursday, August 4 princesses will appear in Burnham.

Heather Moor and colleagues from Snow Princess Parties will step out in their finest gowns in a ‘Princess Parade’ to officially mark the summer holidays.

Starting at Whittaker Road, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and other screen and storybook royalty will walk through the village bringing along Batman and other crime-fighting superheroes as well.

They will complete their parade at Burnham Park where they will gather for a sing-a-long.

“Our aim is to bring joy to children during the summer holidays,” began Heather.

“We did one of these in 2020, just after first lockdown started easing, and seeing the smiles on faces of children stuck inside made it all worthwhile.

“Now that all restrictions have gone we’d like to do another parade and encourage everyone to join us – and in fancy dress, too."

During the pandemic Heather and fellow entertainers organised parties on Zoom and did video calls with vulnerable adults.

“We always see it as our job to make people smile. To try and keep the magic,” Heather said.

Children can wait along the parade route and at certain places the princes, princesses and superheroes will stop for selfies.

The full route will be released a week ahead of the parade.
