Traffic will be allowed to use Burnham Lane bridge during peak hours this week after plans to fully close the road for a week were lifted.
The road was set to close completely for a week from yesterday (Wednesday) for emergency drain repairs, but will now only need to be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
It is set to fully re-open on Monday, two or three days earlier than planned.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes, including Dover Road, when the bridge is closed.
Pedestrians will be able to use the bridge from Saturday.
