Longest serving member of staff leaves Oakley Green clinic

The longest-serving member of staff at Cardinal Care Clinic will be leaving after 39 years.

Jean Homa, from Windsor, was head housekeeper at the private psychiatric clinic, which deals with all aspects of mental health from mild depression to psychosis.

The 79-year-old got the job after seeing a vacancy in the paper, however by the time Jean rang the vacancy had already been filled.

The mother-of-four said: “I rang up after seeing the advertisement in the newspaper but they told me the position had already been filled.

“After a few weeks they asked if I could help out as the woman they chose was sick and I never looked back. It was a home from home.

“Everyone there are like family to me and I loved it there, but I knew it was time to go because I’m 79 years old.”

Jean, who has lived in Windsor for 55 years, will turn 80 in January.

Her last day at the clinic was on Friday, April 29.
