Athletes around Maidenhead are set to lace up their running shoes for a major sporting competition - returning to the calendar after a 4-year hiatus.
Maidenhead Half Marathon - which last ran on its 10th anniversary in 2021- will see entrants face-off on a course stretching from Maidenhead to Cookham and back again.
For its return in October 2025, the race is under new management with the UK’s largest running events company RunThrough taking the lead.
Matt Wood, Co-Founder of RunThrough said: “We are thrilled to bring this event to life under the RunThrough banner.
“Maidenhead’s combination of history, community spirit, and picturesque surroundings makes it the perfect backdrop for a half marathon.
“Whether you’re chasing a PB or running for fun, this event promises something special for everyone."
Maidenhead Half Marathon’s 10th anniversary was relocated to Dorney Lake after concerns over lagging numbers of participants not justifying road closures.
But runners still turned out in force with more than 400 people braving 13 laps around the lake – and scorching temperatures on the day.
In previous years though, the event has seen more than 2,000 take part.

For the 2025 race, runners will push through the pain barrier over a 13.1 mile course kicking off from The Moors in Maidenhead.
Entrants will traverse town centre streets and countryside as they head through Riverside and Widbrook Common into Cookham; and back through Cookham Rise and Furze Platt.
The gruelling challenge will see runners compete over two laps of this circuit.
Discussing the impact of Maidenhead Half Marathon’s return, Maidenhead Athletic Club member and former club treasurer Ian McKenzie said it was ‘a positive boost’.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have another major running event back in the town for the benefit of the running community which just keeps growing,” he said.
Maidenhead Athletic Club has more than 500 members and organises the annual Easter Ten race, an historic event for the Maidenhead running community.
The race is set to celebrate its 70th anniversary next year when runners take to the ten-mile course in April.
Mr McKenzie said: “I can’t see it being anything but a positive boost for the town’s running community.
“If we bring back the half marathon we’ll have these two substantial events in the year.”
