Police are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner suffered life-threatening injuries when a van hit her in the car park of a Maidenhead Tesco Express.
The woman, in her 70s, was hit by a silver Mercedes in the car park of Tesco Express in Furze Platt Road between 5pm and 5.15pm on Wednesday, July 16. She remains in hospital.
Police arrested a 56-year-old man from Maidenhead on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless/ inconsiderate driving, in connection with the incident. He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
The force has appealed for witnesses.
Investigating officer DS Robert Chevalier of the Joint Operations Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“An investigation into this incident in which a woman has sadly sustained life-threatening injuries is underway.
“We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage that may assist our enquiries to please contact us on 101 or via our online reporting form, quoting reference 44250358863.”
