A derailed freight train between Reading and London Paddington is expected to cause disruption until at least midday.
Great Western Railway said the incident took place earlier this morning between Slough and London Paddington, understood to be in the West Ealing area.
Passengers travelling from Maidenhead, Twyford and Slough should use Elizabeth line services until further notice.
Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
