Engineers will work to fix a gas leak outside the Santander bank in Maidenhead High Street on Sunday.
National Grid will carry out the work and an emergency road closure will be enforced in the High Street and Queen Street, north of the junction with Broadway, from 8am-6pm.
There was a gas leak outside the bank branch and an excavation earlier this week revealed it couldn't be repaired without further excavation, which will extend from the pathway into the road.
This will mean traffic cannot pass.
A diversion will be put in place via Broadway, Park Street and York Road, and the 75 and 7S buses will be impacted by the closures.
Information will be posted at the bus stops.
National Grid traffic management representatives will be on site to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum and to deal with access issues to Brock Street.
