This snowy scene on the Long Walk to Windsor Castle has been chosen as the favourite photo of 2012.
Readers have been choosing their favourite photo from 'The year in pictures' - a selection of 20 images illustrating last year's news stories from Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor, Twyford and Burnham, which was uploaded to the Advertiser and Express websites last week.
The winning picture, taken by staff photographer Nick Parford, was taken on Sunday, February 5, after a heavy overnight downpour had provided children with the opportunity to drag their parents out of bed for some sledging fun.
The second most popular photo (left) was taken from the same spot, but this time crowds had lined the Long Walk to catch a glimpse of the Olympic torch relay as it passed through the area on July 10.
Loved-up dogs Harley and Lola featured in the third-placed photo (right), which captured the moment the rescue hounds vowed to be chums for life at an unlikely wedding at Summerleaze Veterinary Hospital in Maidenhead on May 26.
Readers had been voting for their favourite photo on the Maidenhead Advertiser and Slough Express Facebook pages.
