A mugger forced a man to hand over his Monte Carlo phone at knifepoint on Thursday.
The 20-year-old man was walking along the towpath near the Hills Meadow BMX track, off George Street in Caversham, when he was approached and threatened at about 10.45pm.
He gave the man his mobile and ran off. He was not injured.
The mugger is described as black, aged between 18 and 23 years old, about 6ft, with an average build. He was wearing a dark, deerstalker style hat, a dark brown leather jacket and dark jeans or tracksuit bottoms.
