Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger has been awarded a CBE for services to rowing.
The 37-year-old, who lives in Maidenhead and trains at Marlow Rowing Club, was among a number of Olympic sporting stars to have been included in this year's New Year Honours list.
Paralympian Sophie Christiansen has also been awarded an OBE for services to equestrianism.
Sophie, from Boyn Hill Road, won three gold medals at this year's London Games.
Other honours include MBEs for Olympic kayaker Ed McKeever of Wooburn Green and Marlow Rowing Club member Naomi Riches.
The assistant headteacher of All Saints CE Junior School in Westborough Road, Alison Borgese, has also been awarded an MBE for her services to education.
