Council leader Cllr David Burbage is in the running to be crowned as 2012 Pin-Up of the Year run by the TaxPayers' Alliance.
Voting is now taking place on who wins the gong awarded by the lower taxes campaign, which recognises those in political power who it considers have done right this year.
Nominees come from local and national government who the alliance says has saved public money or acted in the interests of the taxpayer.
Cllr Burbage (Con, Bray) has been hailed for making a 1.5 per cent cut in council tax in the Royal Borough for 2012/13 - the third successive year it has been slashed.
He will be up against Stella Creasy MP (Lab, Walthamstow), Ben Gummer MP (Con, Ipswich) and Mark Reckless MP (Con, Rochester and Strood).
The public have until Christmas Eve to vote for their favoured nominee through the TaxPayers' Alliance website, with the winner announced between Christmas and New Year.
