The future leadership structure of the Royal Borough is due to be discussed behind closed doors at tomorrow's meeting of the ruling cabinet.
Lead member Cllr David Burbage and his officers have been examining how other councils are run.
It is known they are considering whether or not to retain the traditional post of chief executive after Ian Trenholm left the authority.
The issue is due to be discussed in the secret second section of the cabinet meeting with press and public excluded.
UPDATE: 1PM: Cllr Burbage told the Advertiser and the Express that tomorrow's agreement will be debated in public at a full council meeting on Tuesday.
