Feuding neighbours who expect the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council to take sides are in for a disappointment.
Members of the authority's ruling cabinet are expected to accept a new approach at their meeting tonight.
As part of this, complaints about neighbours will now be dealt with separately from standard anti-social behaviour investigations.
Neighbours will be asked to accept that the Royal Borough may not come down on one side or the other, although a guidance service will be offered.
