Council could spend £315k on new library

The first discussions have taken place over what community schemes the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead will fund in its 2013/14 budget.

The council is set to spend £4m on projects, which could include a £90,000 dance studio at the Magnet Leisure Centre and £315,000 on a new Boyn Grove Library.

Members of the adult services and health overview and scrutiny panel debated the library plan on Tuesday night at Maidenhead Town Hall.

Cllr Marion Mills (Con, Belmont) said if built it would be an 'excellent' community facility and she will be fighting the corner for it.

Cabinet members will make a final decision on which schemes the council will fund early next year.
