A murder suspect charged with killing a teenage girl in Windsor more than 30 years ago has appeared in court today via video link.
Colin Frederick Campbell, appeared via a link from prison at Slough Magistrates' Court. He is accused of murdering Claire Woolterton, 17, on August 28, 1981.
Cold case investigators charged the 65-year-old on Wednesday after arresting him on Tuesday.
Claire Woolterton, who was living in West London at the time, was found stabbed and strangled by a member of the public on a towpath alongside Barry Avenue in Windsor.
Campbell is in police custody and is set to appear at Reading Crown Court on Thursday for a hearing.
