A taxi driver from Maidenhead has been convicted of raping a female passenger he was driving home from a night out.
Amir Ali stood trial at Reading Crown Court this week accused of attacking the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on March 4 this year.
The 26-year-old denied raping her and claimed they had consensual sex in his cab on Slough Trading Estate.
Taking to the stand on Wednesday he said he was 'a weak man who made a stupid mistake'.
His defence suggested the woman made the claim because she felt guilty about having sex with a man she had only just met.
But a jury of nine men and three women returned a guilty verdict at ???? this afternoon after being sent out shortly before 10.30am.
The trial began on Monday.
Ali, of Boyn Hill Road, was a licensed taxi driver within the Royal Borough but did not work for a company.
His licence has been suspended since his first court appearance in March.
