A man who has been described as a 'dad in a million' has died aged 86.
Antonino Cardillo passed away peacefully from heart failure on Friday, October 5.
As a member of COASIT Italian Schools Assistance Committee for more than 30 years, he helped generations of Italians living in Maidenhead have access to Italian language and writing courses.
Daughter Rosalba Broccolo said: "He was just a generous and kind-hearted man."
The funeral service was held at St Joseph's RC Church in Cookham Road on Friday last week.
Son-in-law Salvatore Marchese said: "Since he was retired he devoted himself to his grandchildren and his family and gave as much time to the community, which is why he was so popular in Maidenhead."
