Maidenhead town centre can look forward to a brighter future after being chosen to receive backing from a multi-million pound support programme.
The 'Enjoy Maidenhead' town team, which comprises of the local authority, Chamber of Commerce and businesses, has been named by the government as one of its 'town team partners'.
In August, the government asked MPs to nominate their local town teams for the programme and the winners have now been announced.
MP for Maidenhead and Home Secretary Theresa May welcomed the news.
She said: "I am very pleased that Maidenhead town centre will benefit from this increased support.
"Maidenhead has huge potential and, along with our wider work to rejuvenate the town centre, we can be optimistic about the town's future."
As a town partner the 'Enjoy Maidenhead' group will receive £10,000 towards incentives such as making use of empty shops and bringing more activity to the High Street.
