Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was approached by a car driver on Tuesday.
The child was riding a scooter in Linden Avenue on his way to school at about 8.20am when a four-door blue car going in the same direction pulled up alongside him.
The driver lowered the passenger window and called out, which frightened the boy who left the scene.
No direct contact was made between them.
The man driving the car is described as white and balding on the top of his head with dark and greying hair of medium length.
He had a moustache and goatee cut short, was of medium build, in his forties, and wearing a white T-shirt with grey writing on the chest.
Police have increased patrols in the area. Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
