Police were called out to Braywick Playing Fields, off Braywick Road, just after 10am yesterday, to an assault on a woman, which they are still treating as an isolated incident.

The victim was approached by a man and assaulted and during the attack an unknown substance was used.
She suffered facial injuries in the attack and is still in hospital in a stable condition and is likely to remain there for the next few days.

"We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the park between 9.30am and 10.30am today or anyone who saw the offender, who was wearing jeans and a black top."
