An early dose of Christmas spirit has ensured this year's Cracker Appeal is already on its way to helping groups across Maidenhead enjoy some memorable festive parties.
The Magnet Leisure Centre has donated £700 of its proceeds from the Maidenhead Carnival, which took place in June.
Centre manager Chris Hall said: "We have been doing this for several years and it is nice that we are able to raise some money and to help people have a good Christmas," he added.
Entertainer Timmy Mallett will be getting sweaty in support of the Maidenhead Advertiser appeal today when he takes on the 10:10 challenge.
The fitness centre is hoping the gym sessions, which include 10 minutes running and 10 minutes cycling, will raise as much as £2,000.
