Developers have taken a huge step forward in their battle to demolish the old Shire Horse Centre and replace it with six homes.
Outline planning permission was granted for the site in Bath Road, Littlewick Green, at a Maidenhead development control panel meeting last night.
Full plans will return to the panel for discussion at a later date.
Previous applications for the site have been dismissed over greenbelt issues.
But the new National Planning Policy Framework means the proposal is no longer considered inappropriate development in the greenbelt.
The application received the backing of White Waltham Parish Council and the Littlewick Green Society.
Other applications discussed at the meeting included:
- Plans to extend the opening hours of a proposed go-karting facility in Stafferton Way, which were approved
- An application to turn the Queens Head pub in Windsor Road into a home, which was approved
