Motorists from Maidenhead heading to Reading could see some disruption to their journey along the M4 when maintenance work starts next month.
The work, which will take place between junction 10 and 11 of the M4, will see nine separate schemes, including road resurfacing and fence and barrier upgrades, take place from October 1.
Some of the work will see temporary overnight lane and hard shoulder closures and the barrier improvements, which begin at the end of October, will require narrow lanes and a temporary 50mph speed limit.
On some nights, the M4 or its slip roads will be closed to traffic, with diversions in place.
A week by week summary of all traffic restrictions will be published in advance by the Highways Agency.
The maintenance is expected to be finished by the Spring.
