The owners of Cocoa the cat - who won the Advertiser's Top Pet 2014 competition - have decided to give away part of their prize to an animal welfare society.

The Garcia family, who live in Orchard Grove, donated the £50 worth of pet food that was provided by Petcare in Cannon Court Road in Maidenhead, to the Cat Lovers' Animal Welfare Society (CLAWS).

Dad-of-two Simon Garcia said they wanted to give the food away to help cats like Cocoa who they adopted from the sanctuary when she was a kitten.

The family, which includes mum Mani and siblings Leo, 15, and Leila, 11, were also awarded a £299 pet portrait session provided by Karen Gray Photography for their prize-winning cat Cocoa.

Another prize-winner was Mary Phillips' cat Mickey who won the runner-up prize of £25 worth of pet food.
