The full time whistle has been blown on the World Cup and the SportsTALK team take a look back at what's been described as the 'best World Cup ever' with the help of BBC Sport's Ben Smith.
Ben, who started his career at the Advertiser, recently returned from Brazil having travelled the country covering games and sampling the rich atmosphere for the BBC website.
Still suffering from jet lag from his journey home Ben casts his eye back over the tournament and gives his views on the champions Germany, hosts Brazil, discusses England's early exit and the day he found himself at the centre of a storm whipped up after THAT bite by Luis Suarez on Giorgio Chiellini.
Ben also looks forward to his next reporting assignment at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, assesses the main contenders for this season's Premier League title and reminisces on his time at the Advertiser - recalling Maidenhead United's promotion to the Conference South via the play-offs against Team Bath - a time when covering the Magpies week in week out was his 'meat and drink'.
