A teenage filmmaker has launched a campaign in the hope he can raise the funds to make his latest film idea become a reality.
Luis Hindman, of St Mark’s Crescent in Pinkneys Green, started making amateur action movies when he was 12 and dreams of one day becoming a Hollywood film director.
The 15-year-old student at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in West Street, Marlow, hopes to raise £1,500 to help him purchase a new camera lens, tripod, slider, and to cover the cost of costume and location, all of which will raise the barrier for his latest short film.
Written by himself, his latest project, Aydin, is a drama that delves into the psychological turmoil of a writer who finds out he has cancer.
He said: "I don’t think any of the films I have done so far define my style.
"But I hope this one will do that because I will have more money behind it to create the effects."
Although the young video game reviewer believes in keeping an open mind when it comes to genre, he has a preference for creating psychological thrillers.
"I think it’s important to have a good plot because it’s the story that grabs the audience's attention,” he said.
"But I also want my films to be stylish visually."
With help from parents, Louella and Shea, and his friends who contribute to the acting and production, the passionate filmmaker has three of his films on YouTube and nine other projects in the pipeline.
Luis says he gravitates towards independent films because of their unique style and choice of topic which Hollywood films might not explore.
"My next film is quirky and emotional and I hope we can get the money together to grasp that top level production value."
