A BBC documentary filmed in Maidenhead about the history of World War One dogfighting is available to view online.
Historian Dan Snow visited White Waltham Airfield to fly over Maidenhead with the Great War Display Team and recreate aerial battles from the conflict.
When war broke out the aeroplane was just 10 years old, but it soon became a weapon of war.
Dan took to the skies in a replica BE2c reconnaissance plane in a bid to out-manoeuvre an 'attacking' replica German Fokker tri-plane.
