A man has been arrested in Maidenhead in connection with alleged sex attacks on three teenagers in the 1980s.
51-year-old Paul Drinkwater, who is of no fixed address, was arrested on Thursday, June 5, and charged the following day for serious sexual offences in Berkhamsted in 1984.
The first incident dates from November 25 of that year, when it is alleged that a 15-year-old girl was raped at knifepoint in the Durrants Lane area.
Then on 16 December two 18-year-old girls are alleged to have both been attacked at knifepoint in the Bullbeggars Lane area.
Detectives from the Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service have charged Drinkwater with false imprisonment, indecent assault, rape, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon for each of the alleged incidents.
Drinkwater appeared before Hatfield Remand Court on Saturday, June 7, and is due to appear at St. Alban’s Crown Court on June 23.
