The village community was invited to The Crown in Burchetts Green Road for the Big Lunch on Sunday yesterday.
The pub's proprietor and chef Simon Bonwick opened his doors for people to enjoy a delicious Asian feast in the afternoon sun.
He prepared a selection of dishes that he discovered during 30 years travelling the world in the culinary game.
About 50 people arrived to test the strength of their waistbands by enjoying plates of everything from creamy lamb in yoghurt custard to tender Persian beef.
"When he heard about the Big lunch he threw a party to get everyone together," said Joe Staunton of the Burchetts Green Village Association.
"Most village pubs are shutting down but here we've got someone who's interested in the village.
"We appreciate what he's doing - he wants it to work."
