The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is urging people to take extra care during strike action over the weekend.
Industrial action by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will take place between 12pm-5pm tomorrow (Friday), from 2pm on Saturday to 2am on Sunday, and between 10am-3pm on Sunday.
The fire service is reminding people to be especially careful in the kitchen and to never leave cooking unattended.
Barbecues should also never be brought inside even if flames are not visible, as they can still give off deadly carbon monoxide fumes.
RBFRS is also encouraging people to test their smoke alarms, not to overload electrical sockets, make sure cigarettes are properly put out and to take extra care on the roads when driving.
The fire service will be responding to 999 calls and life critical incidents will be prioritised.
